    Welcome
The 'All Goju Ryu Network', now the Internets #1 source for Gojuryu and Traditional Karate-do, is an online educational community and international reference portal for Goju Ryu Karate do & Martial Arts of Okinawa Japan

Gojuryu.net is FREE having the benefit of:
Receive updates & news of upcoming events.
Viewing additional information not generally available.
Communicating with other members through free email, forums & services.
Submit articles, events, information, links, news & participate in the forums.
    News
Forums back but still more to be done.
Well - we finally got the forums back up and live running. There are a total of 12 users who's posts were completely lost however those particular users hadn't logged in for at least 12 months or so.

We are still working on salvaging the private messages [PM]. Because the db encrypts the PM system it is a much bigger job to unscramble it's contents and just a big an issue is it's a SQL db. Please be patient with this one.

Shout-box? Well, 100% of the shout-box is lost. This will be a completely new shout-box and we'll see a few nice changes as it will also be standardized, not proprietary as our previous version.

Good to see everyone back and that you are all still around. As fast as the PM system comes back online is as fast as we'll see the old users back here with us again so again, please be patient if you haven't seen a few friends online with us for a while.

USA Karate Remembers Ridgely Abele, May he rest in Peace.

    USA Karate Remembers Ridgely Abele

On the morning of December 10, 2009, Ridgely Abele was called home. The passing of this iconic man of the martial arts was a great loss for the karate community and his family.  Ridgely Abele stepped through boundaries, crossed lines of style and ideology, brought science to traditional training methods, and embodied the Martial Art way of life so robustly, he demonstrated to others how to live and train.

    Season's Greetings
Windows to the worldTo all subscribers,

Deep roots strengthen the foundation of this art and yet wings are what provide us with the means to continue forth on the continued journey of discovery. Practicing karate inconspicuously links us to its past; through training together we forge important bonds of friendship, and by living the art we honor its heritage, which in turn, keeps this spirit alive.

In the spirit of the art of karate, season’s greetings my friends,

    Patrick McCarthy

    Okinawa tour aug 2009
In the NewsIn aug I visited Okinawa for the first time and attended training with Hokama sensei of the (IKO) International Kenshi Kai organisation.
I found hokama sensei a incredible teacher with tremendous amount of knowledge on karate and kobudo.

His knowledge on the nerve centres were amazing. A very likable teacher with all styles visting and training with him. What was so starnge to see was two Kyokushin karateka from Australia

No New Posts Post searches for Dojo here or http://www.gojuryu.net/forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=24 and post a "search for dojo request" or recommendation in the area as you have described. The group members are usually great about helping find a dojo for people whom are looking and the help of 700 is much better than the help of 5.
