| Forums back but still more to be done. |
Well - we finally got the forums back up and live running. There are a total of 12 users who's posts were completely lost however those particular users hadn't logged in for at least 12 months or so.
We are still working on salvaging the private messages [PM]. Because the db encrypts the PM system it is a much bigger job to unscramble it's contents and just a big an issue is it's a SQL db. Please be patient with this one.
Shout-box? Well, 100% of the shout-box is lost. This will be a completely new shout-box and we'll see a few nice changes as it will also be standardized, not proprietary as our previous version.
Good to see everyone back and that you are all still around. As fast as the PM system comes back online is as fast as we'll see the old users back here with us again so again, please be patient if you haven't seen a few friends online with us for a while.

 Next July, 19 and 20, will take place the 63th Anniversary and Championship of Seigokan at Himeji city, Hyugo Budokan, in Japan. Members of 12 countries representing National Seigokan Associations will dispute kata and kumite competitions. |

| 01/31/08 site recovery update |
We are redesigning the site banner so please bear with us if you see a few different beta images up there. In the meanwhile we have the following updates as we have modified our hosting package:
Upgrade from 500 to 1500 GB Hosted server space
Upgrade from 2000 to 2500 E-mails capable [keep in mind we will still be moving to an outsourced email host with almost unlimited space]
Upgrade from 50 GB to 15,000 GB of Bandwidth
Now include multi-versions SSL / CGI / PHP multil-level support
From 5 to 25 MySQL DatabasesNow include a Marketing / Content PackageMoved to a new secure server that just happens to be a lot faster too.

- Recovered Moderators / Administaff.
- Finished comparison of forum to reload and insert correct users to posts.
- Created a new 'latest visitors / most recent members' panel.
- Reinstalled forum [still in hidden mode will make available on Jan 1st 2008 while we beta test]
- Reinstalled Private Messages [still in hidden mode will make available in January 2008 while we beta test]
- Good news is most of you will still have the majority of your private messages in tact.
- Contemplating the no right click feature to prevent others sites and publishers from 'borrowing' content and claiming they wrote or were the originators.

| Christmas Hack update |
12/25/07 We just about thought this day would never come but we have something to at least start as a strong update. Now that we have the meat of the database up, users can log in again but not much more than read and reference articles and information. Thanks again to the way-back machine and to a budgeted pocket working with a group of programmers in Pakistan. By the way, we previousely were working with a group of programmers and de-buggers in India however the work was just taking too long. For this Gojuryu Network update, we'll tell you about the following upgrades:
It seems official that we officially lost the following items:
- ALL guest-book entries lost
- All anonymous posts lost
- .gif image destroyed as it too was corrupted [who knew!]
The following will change if not immediately then in the very near future:
- Email addresses will no long be hosted by Everyone.net [final date and transfer to be determined] however our new secure source will also not sell our email list and add the #1 email spam filter in the world!!!!! For the time being you should still have full access to all of your free email accounts and can still add additional accounts.
- The online store will be colo-hosted for security measures and to prevent cross hacking. Also will enable the Administaff to focus exclusively on Gojuryu.net.

| Hack Cleaning! |
| 11/15/07 update: So first was to remove the hacked codes and return to normal. Then was to remove the virus from the database and attempt to reverse the damages. Now we are at the point of hunting down what goes where. Our best asset to do this is a little known thing we call the Way Back Machine. This is also how we have been able to prove copyright infringements! [The rule is once it is published - copyrights apply and the internet is one big publication!]. | Hack update! |
10/30/07 update: Regarding the hack,there was an injection so to speak. A bit difficult to explain but imagine putting a virus in a needle and injecting it into someone. A hacker put a virus hidden into a code and placed it into the forums which is of course posted and saved to the database. The Gojuryu.net database is scrambled like monkey brains and raw eggs right about now. The database is being repaired but it is going to cost a bit of $$ and weeks of time.

| We've been hacked! |
10/15/07 update: Well we have the core system back and the Database is out for to the professionals for cleaning. We've even managed to create a new backup of the most recent items [10/19/07] to merge with the items that pre-existed up to the hack date. Hopefully there was not too much data lost with the hoax. Most, but definitely not all, information will be salvaged.
When back online - we'll be asking for users / member assistance in monitoring and tracking. In particular reporting the source of the hack via IP.
