Hi, Joe. Welcome to this forum. Why does your name sound familiar? Are you a member of any other online forums? Contribute to any martial arts magazines? It's killing me. I can't place your name.

I'm a bit suprised that there are so many new people that have joined the group and so few of the newbies that have introduced themselves. What's going on in there? |

well, I joined here a while ago, just never read or posted much on the boards here before. but here it goes;
- started training in 1994 at the age of nine in Canadian style Goju and kobudo (did a few months of shotokan before that)
- recieved shodan-ho in 1999 in goju
- then my school started training in Okinawan style Meibukan Goju under Meitatsu Yagi Sensei organization IMGKA
- took a break from training in 2002 and have been training on an off since, but still practice at home regularily
- in between my goju training I've also trained in muay thai, judo, wrestling, MMA, etc...
- I also practise martial arts tricks/extreme acrobatics, stunts, fight choregraphy, etc... and have done several short films
umm...that's about it..current martial arts goals are to earn my shodan in Meibukan Goju, travel to Okinawa to train (also china, vietnam, etc.), fight in a professional MMA bout before the age of 25, and have my yodan in Meibukan Goju by 35...yah, that's about it..lol |

Hi everyone !!
Mi name is Aleojin Rios and I have been practicing Goju-Ryu Karate-Do for over twenty years. I hold a San Dan given by our Shihan, Motoo Yamakura. I am a member of the Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Kyokai ( GKK ) led by Yamakura Shihan and Richard Stamper Sensei. I have my dojo in Panama and I have a great time training with my deshi. It would be awesome to make new friends here and I would like to have the opportunity to travel and train in Okinawa one day !!! Nevertheless, if there is anyone who plans to come to Panama, eitehr for bussiness or pleasure, please contact me so we could arrange at least one session and learn from each other !! It would be nice to have visitors in our dojo. |

I subscribed to this network a while ago, but I don't think I did an introduction. I am 59 and have done goju since 1970; my husband is my principal teacher. I have lived in Bermuda since 1970, when he introduced karate here. Our school is Bermuda Karate Institute. We are affiliated with USA Goju and Okinawa Gojuryu Karatedo Kyokai. |

I am 17, a male, I have been doing martial arts since I was 5.
I started with Universal Kempo-Karate in Hawaii [James Mitose break-off; mostly Kajukenbo influences]. I have gotten my black-belt in this style at the age of 10, then moved to Virginia.
Then I started in Shorinji Kempo Sogo Jutsu and testing for that this coming July and I will be getting my Nidan in Motobu-ha Shito-ryu in the Winter, I also will be trying to test for my Sandan in Goju-ryu Karate when I get around to it...

Thank You, and have a great day!!! |

I just realized that I have not posted an introduction to this forum. My name is Allen and I am from Windsor Ontario, Canada.
I started in Okinawan Goju-Ryu over two and a half years ago at the young age of 42. I train under Conroy Copeland Sensei and he trains with Chinen Sensei. I am currently I am green belt 5th kyu.
I really enjoy reading the forums and do respond occasionly when I feel I have someone to offer. (not enough experience yet).
Thanks
