Hello, new to this site. Never joined one before in regards to martial arts. I have studied off and on for twenty years. The style I have trained in is known as Sunyata. The Dojo is out of MA. Wanted to say hello to all out there and stake my place on this opening page.
Enjoy the day,
Drew |

Hello. This is my first post.
I am not a full martial art person, but I am about to study from someone.
I have studied Karate long ago, but it was for a short time as it was discovered that the owner-teacher was a fraud and with bad character. Having been misguided, I am now cautious.
I came here requesting, if anyone should know information about a teacher named Glen Grabow?
I am about to study with one of his students.
I am looking for information, good or bad and I rather this information be sent directly to my email in order to not create uprising and mostly going against any forum policy.
My email;
Thank you
Joan

Joan,
I believe Carl - who is an active participant on this site - is in a direct line from Glen Grabow (ie, his teacher's teacher I think) and has first hand knowledge. If the PM system is working, you can try reaching Carl - otherwise, it is likely he may stumble upon this thread soon anyway.
I haven't met Glen personally but do know of him and his lineage as it crosses mine back in Okinawa. I can't speak firsthand but if students are an indication of the teacher, he can't be too bad as my impression of Carl from when we met is both a strong Karateka and a very decent person and he speaks highly of Glen. |

Hi everybody!
I'm Quyet from Vietnam. I have trained Karatedo for more than 10 years. Firstly, I trained Shotokan Ryu for more than 5 years. Then, I changed to trained Goju ryu.
Now I'm happy with Goju Ryu. |

Thank you for the well-wishes for my Shodan grading, Golden Crane . I officially have two more months until the big day. I am quite nervous, and very excited as this is the biggest thing I've ever done for myself. It feels great, and the deeper I dive into Gojuryu, the more in love with it I fall. It's been an amazing journey that I hope will continue for years to come. |

Hello All,
I am new to Gojo Ryu and martial arts in general but an avid observer. I have participated in about 10 classes thus far and truly enjoy that time in training. I would like to find step by step or walk-through intructions and/or illustrations of Gekisai Dai Ichi, Ni and San, all Taikyokus and the Pinans. Thank you! |

Hello everyone. My name is Kurt and I am from Oklahoma City. i recieved my black belt from Chris Pollman Sensei in Weatherford, OK in the 70's. I had a dojo for several years in the early 80's but really haven't done much since. Gojuryu is part of me and has never really left my heart. I'm thinking about starting up again. I love kata. I'm thankful that I found this site...

Greetings Goju forum members.
My name is Raymond, I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I began my Karate studies in New York City in 1968, in the Shotokan style quickly switching to the USA Goju Karate of Peter Urban, 10th Degree Black Belt and founder of American Goju Karatedo. I continued my studies in Tae Kwon Do with World Champion Tony Lopez, Aikido (T.S. Okuyama, T. Teshiba and Pablo Vasquez, Aikikai Shihan), Tomiki-ryu Aiki-Jujutsu (F.Price), Shito-Ryu Karate (Robert Hunt, AZ Genbukai), Kyokushinkai (Shigeru Oyama, Saiko Shihan), T'ang Lang (Preying Mantis) Kung-Fu and IOGKF Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate for several years under the guidance of Sensei Morio Higaonna. I am also a student of the Japanese sword art Muso Shinden-Ryu “Iaido,” and was awarded my Godan, 5th Degree Black Belt in 1993 by Grandmaster Peter Urban, Ph.D. and I currently hold rank of Rokudan, 6th Degree Black Belt, Kyoshi awarded by the All-American Goju International Karate Association, with Black Belt rank in Aikido and Tae Kwon Do.
I wish everyone well in their studies, of the deep, beautiful and profound art of Goju-Ryu Karate-Do. |
